HEY! everyone needs a laptop? why dont i suggest some? these notebooks to be listed below are judged by its specifications and value for money! i dont think anyone would go for the really high-end and most of you dont really play hardcore games.

My 1st recommendation would be the Dell XPS M1210.Starting from S$1899.

-Dual-core.best to take the Intel^® Core^TM 2 Duo Processor T7600 (2.33GHz, 667MHz FSB, 4MB Cache).
-RAM up to 4GB.(1 or 2GB should be enough)
-256MB NVIDIA^® GeForce^TM Go 7400,
-Harddisk up to 100GB for Rpm7200.i dont recommend the Rpm 5400.

This mean machine would cover most of ur task, online games.even light Rendering!but a design student will need more than this. Its pretty amazing that all these technology comes at only 1.89Kg. If you think the Dell suck, i agree. But not for this XPS series.actually there's another XPS but its 5k+. If u worked hard enough all this while and got the cash,u may consider it. =D

The next one i would like to show is a Hp Compaq. Compaq Presario V3000 series. I got a headache by looking at the long list of this V3000 series alone! phew. and i choose one of it - Compaq Presario V300Z

-AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-60(2.0GHz/1MB)
-Graphic ain't that great:NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 6150
-RAM 1 or 2 GB.

Third one! ASUS! The good thing abt this brand is its warranty. Its valid anywhere!!

-i'm pretty confused with the Graphic Card thought.ATI Mobility Radeon X1700 External VRAM 256MB (512MB with Hyper Memory)

OR - Asus G1. cool name uh? so is the product! It looks pretty much like a Carbon-Fiber casing.If i'm not wrong,it comes with a special Carbon-fiber Logitech G5 Laser mouse with 2000DPI.and a backpack.This stuff is really hot on the outside.for the trivial details click here.

Overall,its onli the outside that makes it Mean.it all depends on the pricetag after all.
